I need help choosing the right product form your list.

We are a non-profit organisation that offers membership packages to support us. Each person in a membership gets a Welcome Pack. The actual membership sale is handled through another store which will then send an order for the Welcome Pack to WooCommerce via REST API. But sometimes a manual order may be necessary by the store Admin.

The Memberships come in 3 types: Single person (1), Couple (2) & Family (Up to 5).

    The Welcome Pack includes:

    1. T-shirt with customer selectable Size (Variable).
    2. Cap (Simple)
    3. Misc bits (Simple unpurchaseable)

So, a Welcome Pack order must:

    • Provide/Allow a Variation(Size) for each person in the Membership.
    • Allow price of $0, as it was paid for externally.
    • Only allow 1 Welcome Pack per order.

I initially looked at using "Product Bundles" but it wasn't easily fitting the needs. I couldn't get Variations to work. Then I discovered you had 2 other products "Grouped Products" and "Composite Products". I could not easily compare their features. Can you please assist.

    Hi David,

We recommend using the premium version of WPC Product Bundles to add variable products to the bundle: https://wpclever.net/downloads/product-bundles/

    Best regards,
    Dustin

    Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the quick reply. I now understand about the need for premium to include variable products and I looked at the 'WPC Product Bundles' demo site.

Q1. How would I allow a Variation(Size) for each person in the Membership, given that the number of people is dynamic? I couldn't determine this from the demo site or configuration settings.  For example....

A family of 3 might need 3 different shirts....

    • T-shirt (S)
    • T-Shirt (M)
    • T- Shirt (XL)

While a family of 5 might need 5 different shirts....

    • T-shirt (S)
    • T-Shirt (M)
    • T- Shirt (XL)
    • T- Shirt (XL)
    • T-Shirt (XS)

I don't know how many people are in their family.

    Regards,

    David

You need to create separate bundles for different group sizes. Then use another plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpc-linked-variation/ to link and display them as a variable product. Here is a demo page: https://demo.wpclever.net/wpclv/product/bundle-02/
