    Hey,

I want to use an bundled product or composite product in a component of another composite product. How can I do this? This is very important because we have the following set-up.

We have oil sets which are composite products (consist of 3 oils) but are not changeable or optional. We want to offer these sets with another product as composite, but we couldn't find any way or solution to do this. How can we achieve this? Please help ASAP

    Hi IB,

Thanks for contacting us here. The action you're trying to achieve is not possible.

For your information, special product types such as Smart Bundle/ Smart Grouped/ Smart Composite cannot be added to as part of any other product types. These special product types are equal and work individually.

These special product types only support simple product (marked "simple #..."), variable products (marked "variable #..."), variations (marked "variation #..."), and simple subscription products (marked "subscription #..."). as their sub-products inside.

In case you would like to add a fixed list of products as extra items to a Smart Bundle/Grouped/Composite, please use the WPC Frequently Bought Together or WPC Force Sells plugin to add other parts as extra options for the composite product.

You can use the WPC Frequently Bought Together plugin to add optional extra products to a smart bundle/ grouped product/ composite product: https://doc.wpclever.net/woobt/bought-together-setup/

Or use the WPC Force Sells plugin to add required extra products to a smart bundle/ grouped product/ composite product: https://doc.wpclever.net/woofs/force-sells-setup/

These extra items will be displayed under the main bundled products/ grouped products/ component products on that product page.

NOTE: Both Bought Together and Force Sells items can be added to the same main product so that you can have both optional and required options in a single offer.

For more information, you can kindly refer to the online documentation of our plugins on this site: https://doc.wpclever.net/.

    Best regards.

    Hey Janilyn,

thank you so much for your fast reply and detailed answer en eventually a solution.

I don't think force sell or bought together gets to my wanted product. Let me explain it quickly how I want it and what the set-up should be like as example:

We have 10 different Diffusers. These diffusers are simple products (so 10 simple products). And then we have 10 different Oil sets. These oil sets are all 10 either product bundle or composite product.

Now I want to make an GIFT SET product where customers can choose any of the 10 diffusers in a dropdown and also must choose any of the 10 oil sets in a dropdown, so they make an gift set which they can add to cart together.

How can we achieve this? Because we really love the composite product, we just want to make it possible to make an gift set as the example above. Please a solution would be amazing!

    Hi Ib,

So customers can choose 1 out of 10 oil sets and 10 diffusers alongside for each oil set, right?

For your case, I suggest that you should try the settings as below:

    1. Create 10 smart bundles or smart composite - 10 oil sets >> consider each oil set as the main product.

    2. Use the WPC Linked Variation plugin to link them together by a common attribute. These oil set will appear as if they are variations of the same product. When customers click on each oil set, they will be redirected to the smart bundle or composite page of that oil set so they can preview what are included inside.

Please refer to our guide here for more samples and instructions on this: https://doc.wpclever.net/wpclv/3-practical-examples/

    3. On each oil set page, add 10 diffusers as Force Sells items associated with the main product. Customers will get 10 diffusers alongside the main oil set added to cart properly.

Refer to the doc to learn how to add Force Sells products: https://doc.wpclever.net/woofs/

You can have something similar to this:

That should do the trick for your gift sets.

    Hey Janilyn,

thank you for your solution. The first 2 can work good. But the 3rd one with  10 diffusers force sell isn't what I want. I want them to choose 1 of the 10, not all 10. And it has to be dropdown, otherwise customer have to scroll a lot on mobile. So the diffuser should be choosen 1 of the 10 and in dropdown list.

    Hi IB,

If you want them to choose only 1 out of the 10 diffuser, then you can set them up as Bought Together products and choose the Single selection method.

If they are created as separate products, they can't be displayed in the same drop-down though.

You can see how it works in our doc here: https://doc.wpclever.net/woobt/bought-together-setup/4-selection-methods/

    Best regards.

Ooh okay. No I wanted to have dropdown just like how composite product selection has a dropdown for seperated products.. This will not work like this for us then ;/
