My bundle consists of both mandatory and optional products. Therefore, the customer must select one of the mandatory options to complete the bundle, and they can also add optional products if desired.
I am having trouble locating where to configure the Wpc Product Bundle for this.
My previous plugin had an "optional" checkbox to enable (or disable) for each product in the bundle. I don't see a similar option in the Wpc Product Bundle settings.
I must be overlooking something; could you assist me with this, please?
The so-called required & optional items are not really apparent in smart bundles. Technically, all items inside smart bundles are required by default.
With bundles, you can only make an item optional by setting up its default quantity to 0 then enable the Custom quantity option, put a check on "Use the default as min?" box. Then customers will be able to remove that item if they don't want by decreasing its quantity to 0 before pressing the Add to Cart button.
If you need to make each component required or optional, with the checkboxes selector, you will find all those settings in our WPC Composite Products plugin.
If I use WPC Composite, I cannot get the "dropdown selector" when the product has various variations. This poses a problem in terms of user experience, as some products become challenging to comprehend without this feature.
On the other hand, if I opt for WPC Bundle, I don't have the option to choose between optional and required items. Furthermore, with your suggested solution (setting its default quantity to 0), I lose the ability to make certain products mandatory, as this option cannot be applied at the product level but only globally.
I don't see any viable solutions here, except for reverting to my previous plugin that encompasses both functionalities. I'm not entirely sure why you have 2 very similar plugins (3including WPC Group Product) instead of having a single plugin that combines everything.
1. You can have a different selector for each component in a Smart composite:
Choose Default for a component:
then the drop-down interface set to Default in the plugin setting will be used for that component:
If you have various variations for variable product, it's recommend to use the List layout.
2. In a smart bundle, you can set different default quantities for different sub-products:
Required items: 1, optional items: 0 these default quantities will be the minimum quantity so customers can only remove items with 0 default quantities.
3. People often think these 3 plugins are similar, in fact, they are purpose-specific:
- WPC Composite Products: kit-building plugin, multiple sources for multiple products at the same time, fixed price or include/exclude base price and many more features.
- WPC Grouped Products: group products together and to be bought as a collection. No discount or pricing method.
