I can no longer find the options to control bundle behaviour when a product is out of stock. I seem to remember that this was controlled globally, but I can no longer see an option either in the Bundles Global Settings or within the individual product bundle settings.
I have some products that automatically go out of stock when 1 or more items within them are out of stock, and others which don't go out of stock, but become impossible to purchase.
It shows as in stock. Currently at the time of writing pork chops are out of stock, and show as quantity zero. If you attempt to purchase the product, however, the page simply resets. After exiting the page you see a message saing "Pork chops are unpurchasable".
Shows as out of stock, and is simply unpurchasable.
Why is the behaviour not universal, how can it be controlled (if at all) and how can the issue with the paleo box be resolved (It's frustrating for customers as they don't know what's going on.
Ideally, I'd like customers to be able to purchase bundles even when some items are out of stock.
The stock status did not show Out of stock right after choosing all variations since the quantity for the out-of-stock Pork Chops is set to 0, which is still valid so far; so the Add to Cart button is still enabled.
It is not until the Add to Cart button is pressed, the stock of all items is checked while the minimum quantity must be 1 that our plugin detects that it's impossible to add this bundle to the cart.
That's why only after pressing the Add to Cart button, it gives a warning that one of the sub-items is not purchasable.
There's an option in the plugin setting called Exclude unpurchasable, which makes bundles always available unless all sub-items are out of stock. However, this option will remove all unpurchasable items from the bundle after pressing the Add to Cart button.
I think I'd been looking for "out of stock" rather than "unpurchasable" hence hadn't spotted the option.
Now I've adjusted the setting it is possible to purchase both bundles I linked to before, HOWEVER, the Bulk Beef Box (with fixed quantity) shows "Out of stock" on the category view page.
This likely means many customers won't click onto the product to try to purchase it. Is there a way this can be avoided?
If you have enabled the Exclude unpurchasable option, it might require some time for the stock of all bundles to be updated on shop/archive/category pages.
You can update the database again, clear caches and cookies from your site and browser completely before checking again.
If it's still not updated, please provide us with your category page link, I will send it to our developers for checking.

This product on the other hand: https://greenpasturefarms.co.uk/product/bulk-organic-grass-fed-beef-box/

Hi Simon,
Thanks for the feedback. Your response came when we were out of our business hours already last week so I will continue our session today (Monday).
The differences between 2 bundles lie in:
- This bundle https://greenpasturefarms.co.uk/product/bulk-organic-grass-fed-beef-box/ has the fixed quantity (Custom quantity is disabled) so it can check the stock right after customers choose a variation for the variable products inside.
- This bundle https://greenpasturefarms.co.uk/product/budget-paleo-meat-box/ has the Custom quantity enabled, so the stock checking process must be conducted after customers press the Add to Cart button.
