Grouped vs bundled

Good morning. I sell 2 simple products and would like to introduce 3 bundles. One with 6 product a, one with 6 product b and one with 3 of product a and 3 of product b. I want to receive the order for the individual product, not the bundle.

I am thinking the grouped products plugin will be the solution. (what is the difference between the two plugins anyway) But can I create a shipping method/price specific for the bundles or does it inherit the shipping method of the grouped products?

    Thank you for your time

    Hi Marco,

    Thanks for contacting us here.

For your information, there's no way to set up a fixed price, control the default quantity or min/max for each grouped item in a Smart Grouped Product. This plugin doesn't offer control over the total price, discounts, or quantity. All grouped items stay as separate products, it's just that they are grouped for customers' convenience in purchasing a large number of items in a collection. Customers can freely adjust to any quantity they like for each item or remove any of them from the order as grouped items are not tied to the main Smart grouped product.

There's no way to set up a fixed price for the Smart Grouped Product. The price you've put in the General tab is a nominal price, it's not the price to be calculated when it comes to calculating the total. by default, WooCommerce requires every product to have a price in that box for the Add to Cart button to be displayed. The subtotal/total will be calculated by the sum of all grouped items' prices as in this one: https://prnt.sc/v57p0q.

Like Smart bundles, you will need to choose a Shipping fee option and and Shipping class in the zShipping tab to calculate the shipping cost for Smart Grouped product.

For further instructions, you can kindly refer to this doc: https://doc.wpclever.net/wpclever-all-wpc-plugins/woosg/

Hopefully, my explanations are clear enough and give an answer to your problem.

    Best regards.

Thank you for you exhaustive reply Janilyn.

One quick question. Once an order is submitted for a composite product, will my logistic office receive an order for the composite product and the component products? DO you have any feedback from Shipstation users in this regard?

    Thank you

    Marco

    Hi Marco,

If you are using an external shipping, inventory or stock management tool/add-on, it depends on how both plugins work together. Sometimes, the information of either the composite or components might be missing or incomplete.

However, we haven't received any reports about issues between Smart Composite and ShipStation extension before. Maybe it can be considered a good beginningbigsmile.png.

You can also test the free version of our plugin on the repository to make sure they can work together.

    Best regards.

    Thank you!

I will run a test with the company that does my fulfilment and see how things work on their side. Is there a setting I can use or code change to avoid the composit product to show up in the order? I think that would help making things more clear for the logistic side.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Marco,

We can insert custom codes to hide the main composite from the order details and PDF invoices. However, we will need to investigate the other external plugin you're using for PDF invoices in order to do that. This is our promised Premium customization service for Premium users.

    Best regards.
