Hi, I have a question about the available actions, is it possible to program a timer that would allow an item to go from the status "On backorder" to "In stock"? I see that there are a lot of possible action "pairs": In Stock – Out of Stock Visible – Hidden Purchasable – Unpurchasable Regular Price – Sale Price Unfeatured – Featured Enable – Disable Sold Individually but I do not see the pair "On backorder / Not on backorder". This seems relevant to me because I use in addition to your WPC Product Timer plugin, a plugin managing pre-orders (and since Woocommerce offers the three basic statuses: In stock - Out of stock - On backorder) and I would like to put a product in pre-order while waiting for the release date of this product and once the release date has passed, place the product automatically (using the timer) from "On backorder" to "In stock".
By applying the status "Out of stock" to my product, the text "Out of stock" is displayed on the product sheet, but by applying the status "On backorder" to me, the text "available on order" is displayed on the product sheet and therefore more relevant with the pre-order, rather than having an item that displays" out of stock "when the product has not yet been released, not yet available.
Thanks in advance for your help. AenyeOne.
Ps: I have your free version at the moment because I need to know if this function is possible before getting the premium version, I have not found any other way to contact you.
For your information, when a product is set to be "Available on backorders", which is considered the same as "In stock" by nature. The same goes to the "Preorders" that you mentioned. So we won't make any actions for that. As you can see, all the actions come in pairs - which must be opposite by nature. So it's hard to carry out your request.
The preorder feature is for a product that is not yet available for purchase but still visible for previewing & ordering. You can try to find appropriate plugins for preorder from the market.
Yes I understand that it is not interesting to adapt the offer for a single request, I thought that it would be useful also for others. I will look to implement this internally in your code if you allow me? I think there must be some way to add a couple "On backorder / In Stock" even though the "In Stock" element is also used with its opposite "Out of Stock", I guess this must be doable to use one element in two couples, I'll see.
From my point of view I do not find it useless to have a pre-order item with the notion "Available to order" and an item for sale with the notion "In stock", even if I understand your point of view on the fact that a pre-order item is usually already in stock in the warehouse, although this is not always the case and I still find that more adequate.
In fact, we have received some requests similar to yours, but after consulting with our developers, they have confirmed that this cannot be conducted. So I have to decline your request.
