Hi, we're using your composite products plugin on an ecommerce site. It's great, but I'm just wondering if I can set it to only give the discount if at least 2 of the products in the composite are purchased? I can see how to apply the percentage discount to one product, but I need to make that discount conditional on some, but not necessarily all of the other products also being added to cart. Only one product (the 'base' product) is required, the others are optional accessories, but in order to get the discount they need to add at least one of the accessories. There are several optional accessories in the composite, none are compulsory (only the base product), all can have from 0-6 quantity. Is it possible to have the discount conditional on adding at least one of the accessories?
1. In that case, since you can accept 6 units at max for the accessories, you can set up your composite product like this:
- Create 7 components, marked Yes for Required (both are required) for the first 2 components.
- In Component 1, add the base product. Custom quantity: No.
- In Component 2, type in to add all the accessories. Custom quantity: Yes, Min: 1 Max: 6
- In Component 3,4,5,6,7: type in to add all the accessories, choose No for Required (they are optional). Custom quantity: Yes, Min: 0 Max: 6.
Doing this will allow your customers to buy, at maximum, 6 different accessories and the base product.
You will save more time if you purchase the Premium and put all accessories under a unique category, then just type to add that category once to pull all products into the component easily.
2. Or you can use this plugin WPC Frequently Bought Together to configure a percentage discount for the main product when buyers purchase at least one of the listed Bought Together items (accessories).
You can go to the base product page, open the Bought together tab then configure the deal like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/keYo0ChFrgQm. When buyers check to buy at least one of the items from the list, the main product will be discounted. You can also set up a new price for each item by replacing the 100% box with a new percentage or number.

I do have the premium version bought from your website (if there is a higher level plugin please let me know!), so I will check the settings again to see if I can add the category products in. The complication is that to get the discount on the base product, the customers need to add at least one of the accessories, but none of the accessories are compulsory to purchase... so they can buy the base product without any accessories, but there is no discount. I will have a look at the frequently bought together plugin as it sounds like it may do what we need too, especially being able to have a set price discount instead of a percentage. The composite product fits our requirements in every other way though & set up has been easy. Thanks again.
