I set up a "Set out of Stock after date and time rule". The product shows out of stock after that date and time if I am logged in, but shows still available if I am logged out. Do I have something set incorrectly that would cause this?
Additionally, the inventory stock status does not seem to update when the action runs. Should it? If not I can see how this could be very confusing.
What does the action set unpurchaseable do and how does that differ from out of stock?
Thanks for contacting us here. We're not available at the weekend so today (Monday) we're back to work and check your case out.
For your information:
- Set unpurchasable only disable the Add to Cart button so that customers cannot add that product to the cart.
- Set out of stock only changes the stock status from In stock to Out of stock. It does not alter or change the stock quantity to 0 upon meeting the conditionals.
The issue you're having only occurs when you log out, but in fact, it might be triggered by the caches or cookies on your site. If you're using any caches plugin. kindly clear the caches of your site and browser before checking. You can also check your product in a new Incognito tab to make sure all changes are properly saved.
Please check and provide me with more feedback. If you still cannot figure it out, kindly attach some images of your back-end timers so that I can check if they are correct or not.
It was not a caching issue as I used different browsers, different computers, cleared the cache and used the incognito window.
Interestingly enough a couple hours after opening this ticket an update from 3.4.0 to 3.4.1 was available. After updating it started working. I will monitor and let you know if I have any other issues.
My question was about the stock status being updated and not the stock quantity. After the out of stock action runs should the stock status field in woocommerce reflect this?
Yes, the stock status will be changed in the WooCommerce Products dashboard accordingly after the date and time in the conditionals matched and the actions become effective as in this image: https://www.screencast.com/t/k6G8fooog6E. If you're using the Quick Edit after you press the Update buttons, the page will reload and the status will be updated. You might need to manually reload the page if you're using caches plugins.
I just purchased your product timer plug-in.
