HI, this is a pre sales question, not a ticket. I am building a site for a client and I need a mix of your bundled and grouped products.
TLDR: Is there a way to specify that the grouped product needs to have exactly a certain amount of items (say a dozen) ?
I 've found a thread on the official WP plugin support forum where it is stated that this option is not possible. It is 4 months old but there is always hope you have implemented this feature in the meantime!
My client wants the ability to create a bundle with a fix amount of selectable elements (e.g. a dozen t-shirts, so choose whatever 12 you want from the list) but dislikes the way Bundles are shown in checkout and in the cart since he would want to have each one show by itself.
He likes the way checkout and cart are when using Grouped products since each product added is removable by itself and they show directly (and not as a part of the "parent" product). But grouped products do not have a way of specifying a fixed amount of products.
If there is a way to do this, I will certainly buy the pro version of the plugin needed since it is the only missing piece on my site!
- Only Smart Bundles and Composite Products have min/max limit for subproducts. However, buyers cannot remove any bundled product from the cart since they're binded together when added.
- Due to the scheme design, the Smart Grouped Product cannot control the quantity, pricing or discount. That's why buyers can remove any unwanted item from the cart easily since grouped items stay independent of one another.
- Maybe you would like to look at our WPC Composite Products plugin. Here is its documentation: http://doc.wpclever.net/wooco/. Users can set a min/max for each component or the whole composite. But still, buyers cannot remove any component when on cart page.
