Is it possible to compare all categories; but only one category at a time.
I see you can choose all categories or one category in the menu. But is it possible to choose all categories but have the compare only work in one category at a time?
Do you mean to restrain/limit customers from comparing items from different categories at the same time. Our plugin only provide the control of compare button's visibility on different menu, but customers can add any item that's comparable to the compare table.
Yes, this would be like on most websites that offer products from different categories. It's not useful comparing a fridge to a microwave or something like that...
That's why I'm asking. Is this feature ever coming to your plugin? Otherwise I'd have to look for a different one.
As you said, there's no use in "comparing a fridge to a microwave" and I do believe that your customers are smart enough not to do so. Users just need to make sure they have put everything under the correct categories and create a proper system, then they can choose which categories include things that are comparable.
The logic is that people just need to compare things when they have some hesitation in choosing similar items. That's why we don't make such option to control the comparison between different categories since they're different kinds, right? Instead, we provide a way to control the categories/sub-categories that can be compared.
