mixing quantities in smart bundle

I want to create a smart bundle with one simple product and three variable products.  Customers should be able to pick from 4 items for a bundled price.  As an example, they should be able to pick 2 blue VariableWidgetA, 1 red VariableWidgetB, and 1 SimpleWidgetC, or whatever combination they want, as long as they select a total of 4 products.

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for contacting us.

In order to do that, please put a check to enable the "Buyers can change the quantity of bundled products". Then in "All item's quantity limit", please put 4 in the Max box. See: https://prnt.sc/sswdlz.

In the front-end, it will be like this: https://prnt.sc/sswfc7. When buyers try to increase the total quantity to more than 4, there will be a warning https://prnt.sc/sswftf and the Add to Cart button won't be enabled until they choose the right total amount of 4 for all bundled items: https://prnt.sc/sswit6.

Please follow my instructions then you're good to go.

    Best regards.

Thank you for your reply, Janilyn.  It's not quite working out.  I would like for the customer to be able to pick any combination of 4 items for the bundled price. For example, they might choose 1 Hot Shot, 1 blue ThugBusters Trigger, 1 red ThugBusters trigger and 1 green ThugBusters 20 megavolt. They don't want any of ThugBusters Runt., so min quantity is set to 0 on each product.

Here is the front end shot.  I can add a blue ThugBuster trigger, but I can't also add a red ThugBuster trigger. Do I need to change each color to a simple product?

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi Dan,

Can you please provide me with a link to your published bundle for checking? I can't see any images from your reply: https://prnt.sc/sttx5a

If you want your customers to choose specific variations of the same variable product and add to the cart, you can add the items with the mark #variation instead of #variable to your bundle. See: https://prnt.sc/stu0j6.

In order to add the same product multiple times to a bundle, kindly check the plugin setting and choose "Yes" for this option: https://prnt.sc/sttyx9

So you can have a bundle with both variable product and its variations like this: https://prnt.sc/stu10r

If you enter 0 in the Min box or leave it blank and allow customers to change the quantity of bundled products, then by default, buyers can remove any unwanted bundled item from the order by decreasing the quantity to 0 in the front-end.

Hope my instructions are helpful for you.

    Best regards.

    Hi Dan,

    1. I got your issue. You meant you want your customers to be able to choose a total of 4 units from any selection of colors and types within your 4 products right? Then, the only way for you to do that is to add all variations of 4 products to the bundle. To do that, when you type in a keyword on the search box, instead of choose the variable products (mark variable #...), you should click on the item with mark ""variation #..." right under the variable product. See this image: https://prnt.sc/stu0j6, hoodie is a variable product, and under it there are 4 of its variations.

So, don't choose the one with "Hoodie"title, choose the 4 "Hoodie-Blue, Yes", "Hoodie-Blue, No" etc. under that to add to the bundle. However, as the number of variations for your 4 variable products are too big (each product has about 6-7 colors/choices, right?) the UX will look terrible.

    2. In my opinion, I think you should try to use WPC Composite Products for WooCommerce. In order to create such deal, you only need to add 4 components, each components can display all variations of your 4 products in a drop-down list. So the interface is much neat and comfortable. You can see the attached image for more information.

With the free version of WPC Composite Products, you can add multiple products to a component using Source: Products, then type in the name of each of your products. But free version only allows 3 components at max. However, you can still use the free version to try. Just add 3 components in the same way, each component with these settings: https://prnt.sc/svg691. Each drop-down will display everything you have added: https://prnt.sc/svg6ri so the customers can choose 3 same products/ choices or different ones.

    3. I recommend that you should upgrade to the Premium, then put all 4 products under a unique subcategory, for example, I use Clothing. Then choose Source: Categories, type in "Clothing"then all products under that category will be added to the component automatically. Settings for 4 components of the deal should be: https://prnt.sc/svg8cx

Remember to enter each component with a different default product so that in the front-end, each component will display a different product at first to hint that there are 4 different products in your deal.

Put 100 in the Regular price box of the General tab for your composite, choose Only base price as the Pricing method then you're go to go. Customers can choose the same or different products, but the total quantity is always 4.

Hope that my guide is helpful for you. I believe the Composite Products plugin should meet your needs.

    Best regards.

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Cause now the issue is from Composite Products, could you please create a new ticket and submit under Composite Products category so that we can manage issues better for each plugin? I'll consider your case further in the new ticket. (Please make it a Private ticket cause we might need to discuss some private information)

    I'll close this one.

    Best regards.
